An Award Longlist and an Interview

Four of seven books published by Ponytale Books last year, have made it to the Longlist of the Vodafone Crossword Book Award 2010. This will be the second year when this prestigious Rs. Three Lac Award, trophy and a citation will be given for Children's writing from among the 56 longlisted books (46 in the previous year) representing the best of children'a authors and a host of new publishers.

The Dreadful Beauty, an English translation of the first book, Bhoyonkor sundor, of the immensely popular adventurer, Kakababu, created by Sunil Gangopadhyay and translated by Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee; noted author Ira Saxena's Curse of Grass - the story of the first Chipko movement in that happened in Rajasthan of 1730s; Nimish Dubey's collection of inspiring stories from sports - Not Out: Heroes from the World of Sport; and 'Here and Now' author Ramendra Kumar's story of a father-son relationship, Now or Never, are the four Ponytale Books' titles that have made to the longlist announced yesterday.
